Salah al-Ali: QND activities at highest level this year

The activities of Darb Al Saai will not be held as part of this year’s National Day celebrations, said His Excellency Salah bin Ghanim al-Ali, Minister for Culture and Sports and Head of the State National Day Celebrations Organizing Committee (SNDCOC). He pointed out that a mechanism for communication will be introduced in the coming days for participation in the activities of the National Day.

In the meeting held on Oct. 10, 2021, at Al Wajba Fort, HE explained that the focus of this year’s QND celebrations is the environment, which is manifest the slogan chosen for the QND 2021: “Ancestral Meadows: A Matter of Trust.”

HE also stated that Darb Al Saai activities will be relocated to a new, permanent location in Umm Salal Muhammad in 2022, noting that the failure to organize Darb Al Saai activities in the current year is prompted by fears of (Covid-19) outbreaks.

In the same context, he revealed that many events and activities will be presented during the celebrations of the National Day for this year, which he described as diverse and colorful, and which are expected to cover various regions of the country and to be at the highest level.

On the other hand, he said that the national march event is always present and is the most important event on the National Day, and there is no intention to move it from the Corniche Road because of construction, except when circumstances are beyond control.
