Our solution is our strength

(From the speech of His Highness the Amir, may God protect him, at the opening of the 50th session of the Shura Council)

Since the founding saga and through the generations, Qataris have faced many challenges, revealing in the past as well as in the present a deep
awareness of their ability to respond. For all the tribulations of nature and the stakes of construction in various colors. For decades, historical
events have shaped the Cree in which they fought tournaments In it, they made precious and precious sacrifices, milestones to their identity,
and these facts became the fulcrum of their personality, and their national unity was the source of their identity.
Their strength, whose predicaments were born as they defended their homeland, inspired them by the need to unite under one flag just as it
inspired Qatari youth. They were headed by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani with the dream of establishing a state. Throughout the
course of their history, Qataris have been able to strengthen their national unity with the conciliation of God, giving many examples of their
honesty, humility, and ability. To keep the promises and face many challenges and difficulties, and the promise of the 2022 World Cup is nothing
but an extension of those promises made by the Qataris to themselves. And before the world to win the challenges of civilization, and that
promise would not have been fulfilled on the ground had it not been for their adherence to their national unity that made them proud.
By belonging to their homeland and loyal to their leadership, it has become a sign of the values that grandparents and fathers have etched in
them, to be faithful to future generations. Generations of all their components have been working in one ship with solidarity and pride, faithful
to the destination of the compass that is moving in the direction of civilizational progress, to write Qataris are epics in the present with their
work, values and constant aspiration for a better future for their homeland, just as their ancestors recorded their epics in the past, Their unity
will increase their determination to pursue efforts to achieve their goals and to recognize the social, cultural, and economic challenges facing
their modern state in the intertwining of its relations with the world.

Preparations Underway for Qatar National Parade 2021

This year’s Qatar National Day will be full of exceptional shows, new surprises, and dazzling performances that reflect the Gulf nation’s culture and accomplishments.

However, the celebrations will be a little different to previous years. General Salem bin Fahd Al Ahbabi, Commander of the Military Performances and Music Center, Qatari Amiri Forces, said in an interview on Qatar TV that no military vehicles will be roaming during the parade on the Corniche for the first time in years.

“This year, we will not use military vehicles, and the reason is that there are other activities in the Corniche area, and this will be the same for 2022, one street will be for infantry show and the other street will be used for services only,” he explained.

However, there will still be a “dazzling and impressive” infantry parade, the official assured, as well lots of surprises – one of which is the participation of large naval vessels that have entered service, and a new aircraft.

“For the National Day parade, there will be great surprises, and I don’t want to reveal it, but there will be a special show for the first time, which I have never seen before anywhere in the world, especially in infantry,” he said.

“You will see something impressive. We presented this idea to the Minister of Defence and he approved the show in the parade and the infantry display will be extremely accurate and unconventional.”

Qatar’s national day is observed on 18 December and marks the day in which founding father Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani succeeded his father as the amir in 1878 to lead the country towards unity.

On this day each year, Qataris along with residents take to the streets to celebrate the country that they consider home. Many decorate their cars and homes, draping them with national flags, others take to the corniche to witness the annual parade and cheer on as planes show off acrobatic maneuvers overhead.

Katara will also have a spectacular infantry show that will reflect the country’s pride and celebratory spirit. Meanwhile, Souq Al Wakra and Souq Waqif will also feature several performances and shows to keep the community entertained.

“We have been ready for a while to share the joys to citizens on National Day celebrations, and what you saw in Katara is a performance by a group of infantry and this group has participated in several shows in Russia. You will see the performances of these groups in Katara, Souq Al Wakra and Souq Waqif,” Al-Ahbabi said.

“We are very prepared, and there will be surprises this year, taking into account the country’s hosting of the Arab Cup.”

Security Preparations for National Parade Concluded December 16, 2021

All the preparations have been completed for the National Day parade at Doha Corniche on Friday. The National Day parade will be held this year under strict preventive and precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was announced by the QND 2021 Security Committee at a press conference on Tuesday.

Head of the Security Committee Brigadier Dr Ali Khujaim Al Adbi said the families of the health sector personnel and the participating bodies only will be allowed to witness the national parade this year through special invitations in compliance with the exceptional precautionary and preventive measures to ensure health and safety of all members of society.

The Organizing Committee has allocated 2,569 seats for the invitees in four platforms.

He said the entry will be for invitees only as one permit for one person, and the attendees must show the Ehteraz application in green status.

They are required to adhere to precautionary and health measures and physical distancing. He said they must stay in their seats and not move till the end of the parade, and avoid smoking, chanting or singing, and should adhere to the designated paths to the parking spaces as specified in the invitation cards.

He said the health measures are aimed at preventing COVID-19 spread, and to maintain the safety of the public. The body temperature of the attendees will be taken, and they must wear face masks, maintain safe distance, and use hand sanitiser.

He also called upon all those invited not to accompany any people with them to the parade, adding that no citizen or resident who does not hold an invitation card will be allowed to enter.

He said the committee is concerned with ensuring security of the parade that starts from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers covering the entire Corniche until the Sheraton Hotel intersection and then towards the direction of Al Fardan Tower and then to Al Barzan Tower, from there to the Theater intersection, then to the Wadi Al-Sail Fire Station intersection, after which it heads to the Al Mannai underpass, then to the Souq Waqif signal, to the Amiri Diwan intersection in the direction of (Fanar), then to Qatar National Bank signals and to the General Secretariat again.

The Corniche waterfront will be completely closed and the public will not be allowed to enter, he added. Entry is only permitted for those authorized through invitations to attend, as each invitee is given an invitation card with a barcode that determines the direction of the car’s path to the parking directly.

He said parking spaces are also allocated for the guests in three locations — Western Bidda parking near Qatar Bowling Center with 792 lots, southern Bidda parking lot with 739 parking spaces, and the northern Bidda parking with 563 lots.

There will be medical units on the Corniche to deal with any emergency situations in addition to the presence of civil defense teams, he said.
